Instructor Bio

Jeff’s love of the outdoors began as a youngster growing up in the foothills of Southern Alberta. During his youth his spare time was spent hunting and trapping the bush around his hometown of High River, and fly-fishing its rivers and streams.

Jeff possesses a wealth of bushcraft knowledge and skills in wilderness living, snowshoeing, back country skiing, dog mushing, canoeing, back packing, fly fishing and fly tying.

He holds a current New Brunswick Guide I License. Jeff has held fishing and or hunting licenses in Yukon Territory, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Montana and New Hampshire. After more than 3 decades in the bush in one form or another, Jeff’s belief is that the wilderness is not there to be conquered, but to learn from and to enjoy. He believes that if we exercise humility and possess a willingness to learn, we can live in harmony with nature as our ancestors did for thousands of years.
